Music stand

I am also a violinist, so this is the stand I use when I practice for orchestra. I like the shadows on my arms because of the contrast they create with my arms. I almost didn't take this picture, but I decided that since choir doesn't use stands usually, I should take this for violin.

Practicing Music

This is my practicing music for choir. I don't actually play piano, so it sometimes takes me a while to figure out the notes. I took this picture because it's me practicing something that is important to how I see myself. I wouldn't be the same if I couldn't sing.

My other kitteh

This is my other cat. It was really hard to get her to stay in one place long enough for this picture, but I got her when she was sleeping on the stairs. She looked up to see what I was doing and I got this picture.

My Kitteh... Again

This is my kitteh, looking for a treat I hid between the rails. I'd been trying to get my other cat to come eat the treats, but gave up and let this one have them. This is maybe a little darker than I would have liked, but she is still, clearly, a cat.

Dragon Puppets

These are my Folkmanis dragon puppets. The larger one is about a foot and a half tall and is a very good pillow on long car rides. I like that the eye of the larger dragon is looking at us.

Rule of Thirds and Symmetry contact sheet

I tried really hard to get pictures of my other cat for this project, but she was very resistant. However, I got a few anyway. There are also a few of some dragon hand puppets I have, from Folkmanis Puppets. The first one is a failed picture of a water fountain because I didn't take enough blank pictures to get that out of the exposed area. There is also a pile of some of my favorite books and an American Girl doll.

Masquerade

My favorite part of this picture is the rings. I love how shiny they are against all the shadows under the table. Also, I like the contrast between my pale skin and the dark shirt and hair. I normally wouldn't post a picture of myself, but even people who know me in person didn't recognize that this is me.

Light Project - My Kitteh

This is.... MY KITTEH. Well, one of them, anyway. I'm super happy this one turned out so well, because this cat usually has her face all scrunched up. I love this picture, and I hope I can got one like it of my other cat, too!

Light Project - Mask and Gloves

These are some plaster castings of my face and hands that I made this summer. How did I get the hands off, you ask? They are only the back of my hands, so I could just take them off the top. I thought they would cast cool shadows, and while it isn't quite like I thought it would be, I still like it.

Light Contact Sheet

This is my contact sheet for our new project about different kinds of light. Some of them are really good and some of them, obviously, aren't.

Fatigue Portrait

I don't like this picture as much as the others because it is really dark across her eyes. I wish I had gotten the lighting better so the eyes were visible, at least more so than they are now. Other than that I like it okay, but if only the eyes were better...

Relax with the Cat

I think that one of the best ways to relax is to hold a cat. The cat doesn't always agree, because right after this was taken the cat freaked out and ran away. I took this picture because it reflected how I was feeling at the time, tired and in need of relaxation.

Home Alone Face

The famous home alone face is here, copied by the before seen Kung Fu Professional, now in his alter ego Kevin Mccallister from home alone. The classic home alone face can be seen. I love that movie...

Kung Fu Portrait

For this portrait I decided it would be cool to have a person pose in a kung fu pose, wearing their uniform. The uniform adds credibility to it, as though it would have been a random person pretending to do kung fu, but now it's a professional who know exactly what they're doing.

Portrait contact sheet

I'm really excited that so many of these turned out because half of them were taken in a attic with only one lamp for light. I can hardly wait to post my prints!

I love how this turned out. The contrast is great and the back spots are crystal clear just like I wanted. Everything about this picture is what I planned it would be and it's almost impossible to imagine that this is a statue that has been collecting dust for years.

"One Thing" Contact Sheet

These are pictures of a fish statue that has been sitting on my fireplace for years. I decided that all the spots on it would make interesting shades of grey and the photo taking commenced. The one with scribbles on it is the one I used for my print. I had to cut out most of the empty space.

Photogram

I really like this picture. It was created with some old earings that I got from my grandma, leaving one of them stationary and moving the others every few seconds on the enlarger. This turned out exactly like I thought it would!

Pinhole #3: bikes

This is my third and last pinhole photograph. This one is my favorite because it is so easy to tell what it is; there is no need to guess like with my first one. I took this picture because I like to ride bikes and I decided that these would make an interesting picture.

Pinhole Scenery #1

This is my second pinhole, and I think it turned out better than the first one. I like that it is actually possible to tell what I'm looking at, unlike the other one. Also, I think that the leaves look cool against the sky in both the negative and the inverted pinhole.

Pinhole Portrait

This is supposed to be a portrait of me. It obviously didn't turn out since, in order to see me, you have to squint. I guess it's not too bad for a first try.
